Cnota miłości jako podstawa wartości człowieka w nauczaniu bł. ks. Jerzego Popiełuszki

Błogosławiony ks. Jerzy Popiełuszko często mówił o podstawowych wartościach człowieka i społeczeństwa w swoich kazaniach wygłaszanych podczas „Mszy za Ojczyznę” na Żoliborzu. Wspominał między innymi prawdę, wolność, godność człowieka, sprawiedliwość, solidarność i miłość. Cnota miłości jest w nauczaniu Błogosławionego przedstawiana jako fundament wszystkich cnót, które, jak twierdził, powinny być szanowane w okresie komunistycznego zniewolenia.

Mówiąc o sprawiedliwości społecznej, często podkreślał istotę miłości jako fundamentu prawa Bożego. Ks. Jerzy zaznaczał, że wierność Ewangelii mierzy się postawą miłości, która jest świadomą i dobrowolną decyzją naśladowania prawa Jezusa Chrystusa. Prawdziwa miłość jest zawsze trudna, ponieważ wymaga wyrzeczenia się samego siebie; z drugiej strony przyczynia się do wielkości człowieka i przynosi najobfitsze owoce.

Cnota miłości była również widoczna w życiu Błogosławionego, gdy starał się chronić swoich rodaków prześladowanych w okresie stanu wojennego. Ta cnota w pełni zrealizowała się w jego ofiarnej śmierci męczeńskiej z miłości do Boga, bliźnich i ojczyzny.

The virtue of love as the basis of human values in the teaching of Blessed Rev. Jerzy Popiełuszko

Blessed Rev. Jerzy Popiełuszko talked a lot about the basic values of man and society in his sermons given during 'Holy Masses for Poland’ in Żoliborz. He mentioned, among others, truth, freedom, human dignity, justice, solidarity, and love. The virtue of love is presented in the teaching of the Blessed as the foundation of all virtues, which, as he claimed, should be respected in the period of communist enslavement.

Talking about social justice, he often underscored the essence of love as the foundation of God’s law. Rev. Jerzy emphasized that fidelity to the Gospel is measured by the attitude of love, which is a conscious and voluntary decision to follow Jesus Christ’s law. True love is always difficult because it requires self-denial; on the other hand, it contributes to the greatness of man and brings the most fruitful effects.

The virtue of love was also visible in the life of the Blessed when he tried to protect his compatriots persecuted in the period of martial law. This virtue was fully fulfilled in his sacrificial martyr’s death out of love for God, neighbors, and homeland.

La vertu de l’amour comme base des valeurs humaines dans l’enseignement du bienheureux Père Jerzy Popiełuszko

Le bienheureux Père Jerzy Popiełuszko parlait souvent des valeurs fondamentales de l’homme et de la société dans ses sermons prononcés lors des « Messes pour la Pologne » à Żoliborz. Il mentionnait, entre autres, la vérité, la liberté, la dignité humaine, la justice, la solidarité et l’amour. La vertu de l’amour est présentée dans l’enseignement du Bienheureux comme le fondement de toutes les vertus, qui, selon lui, devraient être respectées pendant la période d’asservissement communiste.

En parlant de justice sociale, il soulignait souvent l’essence de l’amour comme fondement de la loi divine. Le Père Jerzy insistait sur le fait que la fidélité à l’Évangile se mesure par l’attitude d’amour, qui est une décision consciente et volontaire de suivre la loi de Jésus-Christ. Le véritable amour est toujours difficile car il exige un renoncement à soi-même ; d’autre part, il contribue à la grandeur de l’homme et apporte les fruits les plus abondants.

La vertu de l’amour était également visible dans la vie du Bienheureux lorsqu’il essayait de protéger ses compatriotes persécutés pendant la période de la loi martiale. Cette vertu s’est pleinement réalisée dans sa mort martyre sacrificielle par amour pour Dieu, les voisins et la patrie.
