Ks. Leon Pastor (1846-1912)

Leon Pastor urodził się 7 lipca 1846 roku w Mielcu. Jego rodzicami byli Adolf i Franciszka Smalebach. Uczęszczał do szkoły podstawowej i Gimnazjum im. Stanisława Konarskiego w Rzeszowie. Następnie wstąpił do seminarium duchownego w Przemyślu. W 1869 roku otrzymał święcenia kapłańskie i pracował jako wikariusz najpierw w parafii katedralnej, a następnie od 1875 roku w Radymnie.

Założył organizację rzemieślników pod wezwaniem św. Józefa, zwaną Towarzystwem Liny, i zbudował dla niej dom. Ks. Leon założył również kasę kredytową. Ponadto był członkiem Towarzystwa Ekonomicznego Galicji we Lwowie i rady powiatowej w Jarosławiu. W 1894 roku został wybrany członkiem kurii wiejskiej w okręgu Jarosław-Cieszanów, a w 1897 roku uzyskał mandat do Rady Państwa. Ks. Leon miał również mandat parlamentarny w okręgu Jasło-Gorlice w latach 1901 i 1908. Był także członkiem komisji wojskowej i budżetowej. Skupił wokół siebie zwolenników ruchu chrześcijańsko-społecznego.

W 1898 roku został proboszczem w Bieczu. Od 1905 roku pełnił funkcję dziekana Biecza i honorowego kanonika Kapituły Przemyskiej. W 1910 roku zrezygnował z działalności społecznej i przeniósł się do Leżajska jako proboszcz. Zmarł 4 lutego 1912 roku po czterech latach spędzonych w Leżajsku. Ks. Leon Pastor był wysoko cenionym kaznodzieją i zjadliwym polemistą, znanym z pobożnego i bezinteresownego życia.

Rev. Leon Pastor (1846-1912)

Leon Pastor was born on 7 July 1846 in Mielec. His parents were Adolf and Franciszka Smalebach. He attended primary school and the Stanisław Konarski Lower Secondary School in Rzeszów. Then he became a clerical student in seminary in Przemyśl. In 1869 he was ordained a priest and worked as a vicar first in the cathedral parish, and then in Radymno from 1875.

He established a craftsmen organization dedicated to St. Joseph called Rope Society and built a house for this society. Rev. Leon also founded a credit union. What is more, he was a member of the Economic Society of Galicia in Lvov and the poviat council in Jarosław. In 1894 he was elected a member of the rural curia in the district of Jarosław-Cieszanów and in 1897 he obtained a mandate for the Council of State. In addition, Rev. Leon had a parliamentary seat in the district of Jasło-Gorlice in the years 1901 and 1908. He was also a member of the military and budget committee. He gathered followers of the Christian-social movement around him.

In 1898 he became a parish priest in Biecz. From 1905 he held a position of the dean of Biecz and the honorary canon in the Chapter of Przemyśl. In 1910 he gave up social activity and moved to Leżajsk as a parish priest. He died on 4 February 1912 after spending four years in Leżajsk. Rev. Leon Pastor was a highly regarded preacher and a virulent polemicist, who was renowned for a pious and unselfish life.

Ensuite, il est devenu étudiant en clergé au séminaire de Przemyśl. En 1869, il a été ordonné prêtre et a travaillé comme vicaire d’abord dans la paroisse cathédrale, puis à Radymno à partir de 1875.

Il a créé une organisation d’artisans dédiée à Saint Joseph appelée Société de la Corde et a construit une maison pour cette société. Le Rév. Leon a également fondé une caisse de crédit. De plus, il était membre de la Société Économique de Galicie à Lviv et du conseil de district à Jarosław. En 1894, il a été élu membre de la curie rurale du district de Jarosław-Cieszanów et en 1897, il a obtenu un mandat pour le Conseil d’État. En outre, le Rév. Leon a eu un siège parlementaire dans le district de Jasło-Gorlice pendant les années 1901 et 1908. Il était également membre du comité militaire et budgétaire. Il a rassemblé autour de lui les adeptes du mouvement chrétien-social.

En 1898, il est devenu curé à Biecz. À partir de 1905, il a occupé le poste de doyen de Biecz et de chanoine honoraire du Chapitre de Przemyśl. En 1910, il a renoncé à l’activité sociale et s’est installé à Leżajsk en tant que curé. Il est décédé le 4 février 1912 après avoir passé quatre ans à Leżajsk. Le Rév. Leon Pastor était un prédicateur très respecté et un polémiste virulent, réputé pour sa vie pieuse et désintéressée.
