Artykuł jest próbą rekonstrukcji wizji przedstawionej przez ks. Jakiela, który w swoim wiernym faktom raporcie zawarł wiele szczegółów: nazwiska, stopnie wojskowe, dokładną liczbę wojsk, daty poszczególnych wydarzeń.

The article focuses on the image of the First World War, presented in Liber Memorabilum by Rev. Jan Jakiel. The chronicler, a long-time parish priest in Osiek (1885-1934), accompanied his parishioners during a number of events. In his chronicle he wrote a lot about the war, the causes of its outbreak, the situation in Osiek just before its outbreak and the events taking place during it (Osiek was in the vicinity of the old trail leading to the east into Russia and south to Austria-Hungary). The article is an attempt to reconstruct the vision presented by Rev. Jakiel, who in his report, faithful to the facts, included many details: the names, military ranks, the exact number of troops, the dates of individual events.

L’article se concentre sur l’image de la Première Guerre mondiale, présentée dans Liber Memorabilum par le révérend Jan Jakiel. Le chroniqueur, curé de longue date à Osiek (1885-1934), a accompagné ses paroissiens lors de nombreux événements.
