Parafia w Zaczerniu na przełomie lat 20. i 30. XX wieku

Zaczernie jest obecnie jedną z parafii dekanatu Głogów, położoną w bezpośrednim sąsiedztwie Rzeszowa. Jej początki sięgają pierwszej połowy XV wieku. Na przestrzeni wieków jej mieszkańcy doświadczyli licznych najazdów i klęsk żywiołowych. Mimo to, wieś rozwijała się gospodarczo. W okresie międzywojennym Zaczernie i Jasionka należały do rodziny Jędrzejowiczów.

W okresie międzywojennym obszar parafii (część dekanatu rzeszowskiego) obejmował Zaczernie wraz z Tajęciną, częścią Jasionki oraz Nową Wsią Zaczerską. Pod koniec lat 20. i na początku lat 30. XX wieku mieszkało tam 2090 osób. Oprócz tego było tam 40 Żydów. Opiekę duszpasterską sprawował ks. Jan Guzy. Wierni modlili się w murowanym kościele pod wezwaniem Narodzenia Najświętszej Maryi Panny, zbudowanym na początku XIX wieku. Ponadto była tam publiczna kaplica przynależna do sierocińca prowadzona przez Siostry Służebniczki w Jasionce.

Wierni mogli rozwijać swoją pobożność w stowarzyszeniach i bractwach przynależnych do kościoła. W omawianym okresie były to: Katolickie Stowarzyszenie Młodzieży Żeńskiej, Bractwo Aniołów Stróżów, Bractwo Najświętszego Serca Jezusowego, Bractwo Wstrzemięźliwości, Bractwo Różańca Świętego i Najświętszego Sakramentu, Bractwo Krzyża oraz Trzeci Zakon św. Franciszka. W dniach 19-27 marca 1927 r. w Zaczerniu odbyły się misje parafialne, których celem było uświęcenie dusz parafian i pogłębienie ich życia religijnego.

Życie religijne i moralne wiernych było w pewnym stopniu kształtowane przez stan ich wiedzy religijnej. W latach 1927-1933 w parafii Zaczernie działały trzy instytucje edukacyjne, które prowadziły naukę religii. Parafia czerpała także wiele korzyści z sierocińców dla dzieci, prowadzonych przez Siostry Służebniczki Niepokalanej w Jasionce.

The parish in Zaczernie at the end of the 1920s and the beginning of the 1930s

Zaczernie is now one of the parishes of the Deanery of Głogów located in the immediate vicinity of Rzeszów. Its origins date back to the 1st half of the fifteenth century. Over the centuries, its people experienced numerous invasions and natural disasters. Despite this, the village flourished economically. In the interwar period, Zaczernie and Jasionka belonged to the Jędrzejowicz family.

In the interwar period, the parish district (part of the Deanery of Rzeszów) included Zaczernie with Tajęcina, part of Jasionka and Nowa Wieś Zaczerska. At the end of the 1920s and the beginning of the 1930s, 2090 people lived there. Apart from that, there were 40 Jews. The parish priest Rev. Jan Guzy provided pastoral care. The faithful prayed in the brick church dedicated to the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary built in the early nineteenth century. In addition, there was a public chapel attached to the orphanage of Little Servant Sisters in Jasionka.

The faithful could develop their piety in associations and brotherhoods attached to the church. In the period under study these were: the Catholic Association of the Female Youth, the Brotherhood of the Guardian Angels, the Brotherhood of the Sacred Heart of Jesus, the Brotherhood of Temperance, the Brotherhood of the Holy Rosary and the Blessed Sacrament, the Brotherhood of the Cross, and the Third Order of St. Francis. On 19-27 March 1927, the parish missions were held in Zaczernie, the aim of which was to sanctify parishioners’ souls and deepen their religious life.

The religious and moral life of the faithful was influenced to a certain extent, among other things, by the state of their religious knowledge. In the years 1927-1933, there were three educational institutions which conducted religious education in the parish of Zaczernie. The parish also benefited a great deal from orphanages for children. They were ran by the Little Servant Sisters of the Immaculate Conception in Jasionka.
