Celem pierwszej części artykułu biograficznego jest ukazanie sylwetki polskiego duchownego (franciszkanina), filozofa, a przede wszystkim socjologa Leona Dyczewskiego, który po pierwsze uchodził za człowieka skromnego, odznaczał się ciepłem, zainteresowaniem i wnikliwą analizą społeczeństwa polskiego (i nie tylko), po drugie przejawiał zainteresowanie pierwiastkiem ludzkim jako podstawą wszelkich procesów społecznych, widząc człowieka i jego miejsce we współczesnym świecie jako główne źródło analizy (niekoniecznie „czysto” statystycznej, jak ma to miejsce współcześnie).

Leon Dyczewski to postać barwna, wielowątkowa, ciesząca się ogromnym autorytetem w środowisku nauki i Kościoła, która zostawiła namacalny wkład w kształtowanie myśli szeroko pojętej humanistyki oraz badań społecznych. Z tego też względu biografia ta została podzielona na 2 części.

The first part of the biographical article aims at presenting the figure of Leon Dyczewski, a Polish clergyman (Franciscan), a philosopher and above all a sociologist who firstly was perceived as a modest man full of warmth, interest and deep analysis of Polish society (and not only). Secondly, he was renowned for his interest in the human as the basis for all social processes, considering man and his place in the contemporary world as the chief source for analysis (not necessarily „purely” statistical one as it can be observed nowadays).

Leon Dyczewski is a colourful, diverse figure, enjoying significant recognition in the fields of science and church, the man who made a substantial contribution to the shaping of broadly understood humanities and social research. For this reason, his biography was divided into two parts.

The first one contains Leon Tadeusz Dyczewski’s biographical details, information on scientific and organisational functions performed by him, rewards and distinctions honouring his work as well as his scientific output in the area of family issues.

La première partie de l’article biographique vise à présenter la figure de Leon Dyczewski, un ecclésiastique polonais (franciscain), philosophe et surtout sociologue, qui, tout d’abord, était perçu comme un homme modeste, plein de chaleur, d’intérêt et d’une profonde analyse de la société polonaise (et pas seulement). Ensuite, il était renommé pour son intérêt envers l’humain comme base de tous les processus sociaux, considérant l’homme et sa place dans le monde contemporain comme la principale source d’analyse (pas nécessairement une analyse « purement » statistique, comme on peut l’observer de nos jours).

Leon Dyczewski est une figure colorée et diversifiée, jouissant d’une reconnaissance importante dans les domaines de la science et de l’Église, un homme qui a apporté une contribution substantielle à la formation des sciences humaines au sens large et à la recherche sociale. Pour cette raison, sa biographie a été divisée en deux parties.
